28th European Forum on Urban Forestry 2026
Malmö, Sweden, 26 – 29 May 2026
The 28th European Forum on Urban Forestry will be co-organised by the City of Malmö and The Tree Office (Tradkontoret).
The EFUF2026 overall theme is Diversity in Urban Forestry – bringing People, Trees and Ideas together.
EFUF2026 is open to all interested in urban forest management, policy, planning and decision-making.
The call for abstracts and ideas is open from 3 December to 18 January 2026. Find it here.
The language of the forum is English.
The Forum starts with a welcome drink in the City Hall on Tuesday the 26th of May. The official start is scheduled for Wednesday, the 27th of May. The conference ends on the 29th of May with an excursion in the afternoon, ending around 17:00.

World Down Syndrome Day meets International Day of Forest – Policy recommendations for employing urban forests as enabling learning environments
In this blogpost, we celebrate the 21st of March, which is not only International Day of Forest 2019 but also World Down Syndrome Day. We look how three EFUF partners implemented forest education for children with special needs, including children with Down Syndrome.
Abstract notification sent out
EFUF is not only the yearly event, but also a group of people who want to disseminate the important role of trees, woodlands and forests in urban areas. These people are building a legacy through www.efuf.org, by writing convincing posts and translating results from science and practice into usefull information for practitioners and decision-makers around Europe.
